College Administered Awards

Please complete this application to help us assess your qualifications for a CMNS College scholarship. All fields indicated with * must be completed. Students should also visit departmental websites to access more scholarships pertaining to their field of study.

All CMNS College scholarships will take into account both academic merit and financial need. Financial need will be assessed with the help of the Office of Student Financial Aid. Applicants for CMNS College Scholarships must have a current FAFSA on form to be considered for CMNS College Scholarships.

The Chen Scholarship and the Dorfman Prize require separate applications – please see below. The Chen Scholarship and the Dorfman Prize do not include a criterion of financial need.

The annual application deadline is in May; the 2012 deadline has now passed.

Clifford and Camille Kendall CMNS Scholarship	Purpose: Four undergraduate scholarships for student in CMNS Criteria: financial need, academic merit; pref for majors in CMSC
The Clifford M. and Camille E. Kendall Undergraduate Scholarship	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship for student in CMNS Criteria: must be US citizen or perm. Resident; financial need, high academic potential; commitment to help others
CMNS Scholarship Fund	Purpose: undergraduate student scholarships in CMNS
CMNS Undergraduate Scholarship Fund	Purpose: undergraduate scholarships, travel awards, etc.
Corporate Scholars Program Scholarship	Purpose: scholarships for students participating in the Corp. Scholars program
Dr. John W Reed Health Professions Student Support Fund	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: financial need, interested in pre-med, pre-dent, or pre-vet
The James and Wendy Nussbaum Endowed Scholarship	Criteria: academic achievement and financial need
Kosta Stojanovich Endowed Scholarship for Pre-medical students	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: CMNS Jr or Sr; pre-med
Maud, Walter and Grace McCormack Scholarship	Purpose: grad fellowship or undergrad scholarship for students studying biological sciences.
Parmar Family Endowed Scholarship	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: undergrad in CMNS
Parmar Family Scholarship	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: undergrad in CMNS
The CMNS Alumni Association Chapter Student Support Endowment	Purpose: undergrad scholarships/graduate fellowships
The College of CMNS Professor's Scholarship Fund	Purpose: undergrad scholarship for CMNS majors Criteria: US citizen or permanent resident
The Dr. Charles "Max" Hunt Dean's Scholarship in the Life Sciences	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: annual support for undergrad under "dean's scholarship program" at UM
The Eda T. Bloom Memorial Endowed Scholarship	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: students in fields of natural sciences or math; financial need; preference for those who attended high school in State of Maryland
The J. Robert Dorfman Endowed Prize for Undergraduate Research	Purpose: annual award for undergrad researchers in CMNS Criteria and application/nomination information »
The Jeffrey and Lily Chen Scholarship Award	Purpose: to provide undergrad scholarship/grad fellowship support Criteria: undergrads in Astronomy, AOSC, Physics, Physical Sciences or Geology. This scholarship requires completion of a separate scholarship application. Click here to apply »
The Nancy L. Goldsmith Scholarship in Nursing	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: students interested in pre-nursing who are CMNS majors
The Rattner Family Scholarship	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: donor intent to award to transfer students, particularly from Prince George’s or Montgomery counties
USM Univ at SG/CP Biological Sci. Scholarship	Purpose: support of Jr. or Sr students, Criteria: must be transfer students pursuing BSCI bachelors program at Shady Grove, GPA>3.0 and completion of a min 50 credits at community college
Willard and Bertha Simonds	Purpose: undergraduate scholarship Criteria: student studying plant sciences in CMNS
